There’s a reason ol’ Benny put taxes in the same category as death. Over four grueling-yet-enlightening tax seasons, my knowledge of eCRM best practices grew to expert level, along with learning to write insane amounts of direct response for multiple audience segments — all while managing the frenetic pace that is tax season advertising.
It all started with being hired for the small pitch team to help retain the agency’s creative work. We created a fresh, fun, and completely new tone of voice and look+feel, including a pithier, more pared-down writing style — to appeal to those of us who don’t enjoy reading tax emails (read: everyone).
